VFS Global Services Pte Ltd is a commercial company working in partnership with the Commonwealth of Australia to provide Australian visa application services in Singapore.
The Australian Visa Application Centre (AVAC) in Singapore offers services which include collection of visa application documents and application charges, an online visa application tracker as well as returning of passports to applicants. The AVAC operates within the guidelines of the client service principles of the Australian Government Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC).
A spokesman for Australia’s Department of Immigration and Citizenship said the AVAC would provide more convenient access to immigration and citizenship services for clients in this region.
“These services will include extended operating hours with phones open until 5pm weekdays, and internet kiosks with an online application tracking facility so clients can view the status of their applications,” the spokesman said.
All applications will be assessed and decided by the Visa Office of the Australian High Commission in Singapore in accordance with Australian immigration legislation and policy. VFS Centre staff do not have the authority to assess visa applications or make visa decisions.
Visa Application Process
|Step 1 :||Select a visa subclass which is appropriate for the purpose of your travel to Australia and download the relevant visa application form.Please note: You can also obtain a visa application form at the Australian Visa Application Centre (AVAC).|
|Step 2 :||Your visa application may require supporting documentation. For a list of supporting documentation required for your visa, see checklists provided under Visa Types. Gather together the required supporting documentation for your application.To avoid delays all supporting documentation should be submitted at the time of application.|
|Step 3 :||Organise your visa application fee and the service fee payments. These payments must be made separately.|
|Step 4 :||If you are applying in person, you are encouraged to make an appointment with the AVAC to lodge your application.
If you are applying by mail or courier, you do not require an appointment.
|Step 5 :||Submit your visa application in person or by mail to the relevant AVAC. You may be contacted by the relevant Australian Visa Office to request additional information. Apply early and travel on time|
|Step 6 :||Important note for visa applicants:Applicants must lodge a complete and signed application form for the appropriate visa subclass, pay the appropriate visa application charge and service fee. Application forms for persons aged less than 18 years must be signed by a parent or legal guardian.All supporting documents and information should be submitted together with the application. Any documents that are not in English must be accompanied by a certified translation.To avoid possible delays, you should include all relevant information and additional documentation in support of your application at the time of lodgement.If you do not provide all the specified documentation at the time you lodge your application a decision may be made on the basis of the available information. Australian migration legislation permits a decision to be taken at any time after the application has been lodged.

Applicants need to produce their original invoice/receipt for passport collection. Where the applicant is unable to collect their own documents, an authorised person can do so on their behalf. The authorised person will be required to present a letter of authorisation which includes both the applicants and authorised person’s signature. The authorised person will also be required to present photo ID, such as a passport or driver’s license, and the original invoice/receipt.
