Formerly known as the Freedom Tower, the 105-storey One World Trade Center will be America’s tallest building – and an indelible New York landmark. Located in lower Manhattan, the 2.6-million-square-foot building will soar above the city at 1,776 feet. Still under construction the tower’s steel currently remains at the 92nd floor (1,145 ft), while glass panels have reached the 69th floor and concrete flooring has risen to the 85th floor.
One World Trade Center will surpass the 1671-foot (509-meter) height of Taipei 101 to become the world’s tallest all-office building. At the time of its completion, One World Trade Center will be the third-tallest skyscraper in the world, behind the Burj Khalifa and the Mecca Royal hotel Clock Tower. It will also be the 8th tallest structure of any kind in the world.
