With over a 1000 restaurants and eateries that have sprung up over the years, it is simply impossible to have dined at every spot. But every now and then you stumble upon a special place that oozes in rich culture, hospitality and tantalizing bites. Located just across the waters of the Marina Bay is a cosy Italian restaurant called the Verve.
Living up to its name, the Verve sparkles in enthusiasm and liveliness staffed with extremely friendly and energetic people. Tucked away in a snug corner of the Marina Bay City Gallery, the Verve offers alfresco dinning by the river. Known for its authentic thin crust pizza’s and a scrumptious selections of antipasti, every dish is cooked with traditional methods and fresh ingredients.
Another must try is the Verve signature Gelato. Made from the finest quality of mixtures like imported fresh vanilla beans, European dark chocolate couveture, imported fresh berries and seasonal fresh fruit, their Gelato explodes in flavour and is 95% fat-free. “Our gelato is made with no compromise”, says Rob Coldman who owns the restaurant and invested personal time to learn the art of making this ancient dessert. Some of the delicious flavours are Vanilla Cognac, Decadent Chocolate, Baileys Chocolate and Cookies & Cream.
The restaurant also boasts a variety of liquids from spirits to milkshakes and smoothies. “You name it, we can make it”, states Dina, Verve’s Regional Bar Manager. With a mix of vodka, green apple and cinnamon sugar, the Apple Martini or Appletini as most people call it is a sweet yet sour drink that leaves a tingly sensation with every sip or gulp which ever your preference.
Offering many lunch promotions for the Joe’s and Jane’s of the bustling Singapore business district, the best time for a quiet yet social get-together would be from 6.30pm onwards. As the clouds lower and a miniature version of the Jet` d’eau´ turns on, a dinning experience at the Verve is nothing but a lovely opportunity to spend time with good friends over great food.

Open from 11am till 12 midnight from Sunday till Thursday and 11am till 2am on Friday, Saturday & the eve of any Public Holiday, getting there is rather easy, just alight at the Marina Bay MRT and take a short 4 minute walk over.
